One of the most important events that the Palm Beach County Seminole Club sponsors is the annual Seminole Send-Off reception for Palm Beach County high school students who have committed to attend Florida State University. This year's reception was held Wednesday, May 28th at the Embassy Suites near the airport. About 135 students and their parents attended the event.

The chairman for this year's event was David Brobst. David is a longtime local board member and serves on FSU's Alumni Association National Board of Directors. - Joe Huard who just completed his first year as a sophomore
- Alex Brobst who recently graduated with a dual degree in Finance & Economics
- Melody Brobst as the proud parent of the recent graduate
- Michele Poole who is the chairperson for the FSU Family Connection
One parent who attended a previous reception sent an e-mail thanking the club. It read, in part, "It was, without a doubt, a most beneficial meeting. My daughter has been nervous(albeit excited) about going so far away and last night she walked out feeling a greater amount of excitement and, most importantly, a comfort level she had not yet experienced! I am thankful to the club for providing that atmosphere!"

Quantum House is located on the campus of St. Mary's Medical Center in West Palm Beach but it can be a bit tricky to locate the House. The address is 901 45th Street, West Palm Beach, FL 33407, we recommend you follow the directions below: Take I-95 to 45th Street. Exit and go east. Go through Congress, Australian and railroad tracks. You will soon see an entrance for St. Mary's with the Hanley Center on the corner. Take this left turn into this entrance. (If you go up the hill to the main entrance you have gone too far.) Follow this road, over the speed bump to the Dialysis Center on the left. Take this left into their parking lot, follow it through to what looks like a service road. Follow this road around to the right. When it ends, take a quick left and a quick right which puts you in the parking lot of the Institute of Mental Health. Follow this through and you will see Quantum House just beyond. It's a one-story beige building with white roof.

Letter from the President
Hello Palm Beach County Seminoles,
I hope that everyone had a safe and enjoyable start to the New Year.
Unless you have been living under a rock, you probably already know that Florida State defeated Auburn to win the 2013 BCS National Championship. The Seminoles completed their first-ever 14-0 season, highlighted by a thrilling 34-31 victory over the Tigers in the final seconds at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. Along the way, freshman quarterback Jameis Winston took home the Heisman Trophy, joining the ranks of fellow signal callers Charlie Ward and Chris Weinke.
As 2014 begins, I'd like to take a moment to reflect on some of the crowning moments for the university, the club and the athletic programs in 2013.
First and foremost, Florida State earned pre-eminent status in June, a big step toward President Eric Barron's goal of making the university one of the top 25 public institutions in the country. FSU also improved to 40th among all public universities in the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings.
Local Seminoles teamed up with Paint Your Heart Out Palm Beach County in March to help paint the home of an underprivileged resident for our annual Seminole Service Day event. In May, the club was honored to host a meet-and-greet with 1993 Heisman Trophy winner Charlie Ward at Grease. Then in August, former defensive coordinator Mickey Andrews and several former football players joined the club for our annual golf tournament/season kickoff banquet at Ironhorse Country Club.
As we look ahead to 2014, here are some key dates to keep in mind:
- FSU Day with the Seminole Tribe is Saturday, Jan. 25th at the Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Seminole Tribe Museum. This is a chance to learn about the real Seminoles of Florida and take an airboat ride through the Everglades. To find out more about the event and to register, click on the following link: http://one.fsu.edu//fsuday.
- National Signing day is Wednesday, Feb 5th
- This year's Seminole Service Day is scheduled for Saturday, March 22nd, and details are currently being finalized.
- The 4th Annual Clematis Street Pub Crawl is scheduled for Saturday, March 29th. This will be the first year that the date won't conflict with the Palm Beach International Boat Show. We are currently trying to secure group rates at a few downtown area hotels. We hope that by doing this we will be able to allow more people from other parts of the county to take part in this epic event.
- The spring game date still hasn't been set, but it likely will be held on April 12th.
- The football team begins the 2014 season at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX against the Oklahoma State Cowboys.
Thank you for your support in 2013. I look forward to seeing all of you in 2014.
Sincerely,
Peter Burke
President, Palm Beach County Seminole Club

BCS National Championship vs Auburn Game-Watch Party
The top-ranked Florida State Seminoles are just a victory away from claiming their third national championship in school history. Only second-ranked Auburn stands in their way in the final BCS National Championship game.
Although these two teams haven't met since 1990, there's plenty of history in this regional rivalry. Florida State is 4-13-1, all-time against Auburn, but the Seminoles are 3-1 in their past four meetings, including a 13-7 victory in the 1989 Sugar Bowl.
Perhaps no meeting will mean as much for either program as the one scheduled for Monday, January 6th @ 8 PM.
If you can't travel to Pasadena to watch the game, join your fellow Seminoles at Grease Burger Bar, the official FSU football game-watch location, on Clematis Street in downtown West Palm Beach.
As always, Grease will offer a 25% discount and $2 touchdown shots to all those wearing FSU colors.
The Palm Beach County Seminole Club's game day tailgate party at Grease will begin at 5 PM. Take part in beer pong, flip-cup and other tailgate games with #3 Pabst Blue Ribbon.
There will also be a continuous drawing throughout the evening for the chance to win a $25 Grease gift certificate(for use on a different date) that wil be awarded each time the Seminoles score. There should be plenty of chances since FSU boasts the nation's second-best scoring offense and top-ranked scoring defense.
Proceeds benefit the Palm Beach County Seminole Club Scholarship Fund, which provides two scholarships each year to Palm Beach State College graduates who have chosen to continue their education at FSU.
All fans are encouraged to arrive early as there is no reserved seating.
ACC Championship Game-Watch Party

The Florida State Seminoles are No. 1 for the first time since 2000. Only one team stands in the way of a berth in the national championship. The 20th ranked Duke Blue Devils have won 10 games for the first time in school history and become the first team other than Georgia Tech or Virginia Tech to represent the Coastal Division in the Atlantic Coast Conference Championship Game.
Duke is 0-18 all-time against FSU, but this is the most meaningful game between the teams when they meet this Saturday at 8 PM.

If you can't travel to Charlotte, NC, to watch the game, join your fellow Seminoles at Grease Burger Bar, the official FSU football game-watch location.
As always, Grease will offer a 25% discount and $2 touchdown shots to all those wearing FSU colors. There will also be a raffle for the chance to win a Jimbo Fisher autographed football and other prizes.

Proceeds benefit the Palm Beach County Seminole Club Scholarship Fund, which provides two scholarships each year to Palm Beach State College graduates who have chosen to continue their education at FSU.
All fans are encouraged to arrive early as there is no reserved seating.

The second-ranked Florida State Seminoles conclude their regular season schedule against arch-rival Florida this Saturday, Nov. 30th, at noon. The gators are guaranteed a losing season for the first time since 1979, so they would like nothing more than to upset FSU in Gainesville.
If you don't have tickets to the game, join your fellow Seminoles at Grease Burger Bar, the official FSU football game-watch location, on Clematis Street in downtown West Palm Beach.
As always, Grease will offer a 25% discount and $2 touchdown shots to all those wearing FSU colors. There will also be a raffle for the chance to win tickets to the Atlantic Coast Conference Championship game in Charlotte, NC.
Proceeds benefit the Palm Beach County Seminole Club Scholarship Fund, which provides two scholarships each year to Palm Beach State College graduates who have chosen to continue their education at FSU.

As always, Grease will offer a 25% discount and $2 touchdown shots to all those wearing FSU colors. There will also be a raffle for the chance to win tickets to the regular season finale at rival Florida.

There will also be a raffle for the chance to win FSU football tickets and other prizes.
Saturday's prizes include tickets to the Nov. 23rd final home game against Idaho and the regular season finale at rival Florida.
Proceeds benefit the Palm Beach County Seminole Club Scholarship Fund, which provides two scholarships each year to Palm Beach State College graduates who have chosen to continue their education at FSU.
All fans are encouraged to arrive early as there is no reserved seating.
