Can the Seminoles end the road losing streak when Florida State takes on Boston College this Saturday at noon?
Florida State (3-5) will be led by interim head coach Rick Stockstill when the Seminoles face the Eagles (4-4) at Alumni Stadium. Mike Norvell was fired by Florida State the day after a 36-24 home loss to Clemson last Saturday.
Stockstill was a starting quarterback for the Seminoles under the late Bobby Bowden during the 1980-81 seasons. He was 16-7 as a starter, including a 10-2 record that culminated with an Orange Bowl appearance to cap the 1980 season. Stockstill, who has served as Florida State's director of scouting for offense since 2024, also has 18 seasons of head coaching experience. He led Middle Tennessee to 113 wins and 10 bowl appearances from 2006-23.
The Seminoles haven't won a true road game since November 2023, but they're 8-2 in Chestnut Hill since Boston College joined the Atlantic Coast Conference in 2005.
